Both Clay Bay Pottery and Gills Rock Pottery have a rich tradition based in the Bauhaus. Numerous summers, Jeanne and David Aurelius and Thor Thoreson trekked out to the remote school of Marguerite Willdenhain to learn from the master potter of the Bauhaus. Each has developed a unique style all their own. With over 50 years of experience, these fine crafts people hand throw and built pots into beautiful shapes that are skillfully decorated, glazed and fired. Each one is unique and by the artists’ hand. Every firing is a surprise of beautiful bowls, mugs, platters, vases and more. Come see what’s new each week. Enjoy, Protect and Return is the motto of Ellison Bay.
